BRH Pottery

The Black-Throated Sparrow is one of the most heat-tolerant songbirds in the Sonoran Desert. It survives extreme conditions by relying on seeds and insects that require minimal water intake. During peak summer heat it limits activity to early morning and late afternoon. Its crisp black-and-white facial pattern makes it one of the easiest desert sparrows to identify.

More About Testing Gradients

I wanted to try a red to white gradient with a little cup I made. I wanted to achive a pink color in the gradient, and while I know it’s possible, when mixing colors, I just wasn’t sure how it would turn out with glazes. I really liked how it turned out so I tested the same technique on a bowl that has a small crack on the bottom. I can only use it to hold dry stuff, but it really is just a test. We’ll see how it turns out.
