The Sonoran Desert is a living mosaic, where saguaros stand like ancient guardians and every stone holds the heat of centuries. As a potter, I draw from these landscapes—the ochres, sands, and shadows—that shape my clay as surely as the desert winds shape the land. This place isn’t empty; it’s overflowing with life, resilience, and stories fired in the kiln of sun and time.

Sounds in the Studio

  • Artist: Black Pumas
  • Title: Colors
  • Duration: 4:06
  • Notes:

I was introduced to Black Pumas at Biden’s victory event on TV. A lot of artists were showcased at that event and a few really stood to me. Black Pumas has a clearly unique sound which sounds old school… almost 60’s-ish.

More About It’s Not All Pottery

Pottery isn’t just about pottery. It’s about inspiration and natural elements. You’re working with earth, so you appreciate earth. That means everything in/on earth. Well, maybe not everything. I know there are elements of nature that are inherently hard to stomach. However, that aside, you have to appreciate agave. It’s architectural, elegant, subtle and made of water. Everything to Sonoran Desert is.

I love photography and for years, I took thousands of photographs. I am inspired at various times throughout the year to take more, but for now, pottery is my jam. I don’t even remember where I took this picture but here it is anyway. Maybe I’ll use this website as another avenue to show off some of the work I do in photography.
