BRHpottery

BRH Pottery is a working studio shaped by the Sonoran Desert. This site is a place to share functional ceramics, documented processes, and explore the landscape that informs the work, from clay and firing to wildlife, surface, and form. Move through the site to see finished pieces, studio notes, and the systems behind how this work is made, and how those systems continue to evolve over time.

I primarily queue music from soundcloud.com because that's what I mostly listen to. Every now and then, I will add in music from Apple Music.

I made these fancy bowls for carafe’s that sweat during humid days. Lisa Callaghan, from Callaghan Vineyards in Elgin Arizona, had this idea based on what she saw of another few bowls I made for another set. The other bowls she saw had higher walls and I thought that the bowls would be easier to break. I made the walls thicker and not as high so the bottles could be removed or replaced without fear of breaking the carafe bowls. So far, I think they’re working quite well. Some folks bought some for other uses which is so great to know!
