BRHpottery

My work comes from slowing down and paying attention—to clay, to heat, to the quiet systems that keep the Sonoran Desert alive. Pottery teaches patience and restraint, the same lessons found in cactus, birds, and hard ground shaped by time. I build each piece with respect for place, process, and the wildlife that makes this landscape feel inhabited rather than empty.

Testing Gradients

Music in the Studio

  • Artist: Not identified.
  • Title: No title.
  • Genre: No genre.
  • Listen: No source.

I primarily queue music from soundcloud.com because that's what I mostly listen to. Every now and then, I will add in music from Apple Music.

I wanted to try a red to white gradient with a little cup I made. I wanted to achive a pink color in the gradient, and while I know it’s possible, when mixing colors, I just wasn’t sure how it would turn out with glazes. I really liked how it turned out so I tested the same technique on a bowl that has a small crack on the bottom. I can only use it to hold dry stuff, but it really is just a test. We’ll see how it turns out.
