BRHpottery

My work comes from slowing down and paying attention—to clay, to heat, to the quiet systems that keep the Sonoran Desert alive. Pottery teaches patience and restraint, the same lessons found in cactus, birds, and hard ground shaped by time. I build each piece with respect for place, process, and the wildlife that makes this landscape feel inhabited rather than empty.

The Sonoran Desert contains one of the world’s most diverse arid ecosystems, shaped by two distinct rainy seasons and dramatic temperature swings. Saguaro forests, mesquite flats, and volcanic foothills create micro-habitats that support thousands of species. Even small shifts in rainfall patterns can change color, texture, and mineral movement across the landscape.
